Letter to Parents

Letter 1

Dear Parents,

How are you doing? I am fine and pray for your good health, as well. My studies are also going great. My first work on gene reaction has just started. The work that we are involved with is on gene amplification: the reaction of the polymerase chain. A DNA replication system that uses a thermopile enzyme from a microorganism has caused a revolution in the practical applications of molecular genetics. With this method you can get thousands of copies of a gene from only a few cells.

Genetic manipulation techniques have experienced in recent times significant progress. It does not surprise us to know a new gene has been isolated. Nor know that there is another disease whose molecular basis has been revealed. A significant contribution to this progress is the possibility that today we have to isolate genes from the cellular genome, and then "sequenced" (Pavlov, Pavlova, et al, 2004). That is, describe the sequence in which to sort the molecules (nitrogen bases) that make them up. One of the most acute problems that molecular geneticists have to solve is to obtain DNA samples abundant enough to allow the development of both the analytical part of the sequencing of the gene as possible insertion into another organism or cell (Pavlov, Pavlova, et al, 2006). Under conditions of cultivation of microorganisms, this problem is obviated by producing large amounts of living material, and then purified by conventional methods, a few micrograms of DNA. Usually you have a minute amount of sample of a gene, so it is imperative to increase the number of copies available, and that's exactly what scientists at Cetus Corporation achieved a little over two years (Knowles, 1984).

It is a great experience to be involved in such work and I hope to perform at my best and learn a lot through this work.

Letter 2

Dear Parents,

How are you doing? I am fine and pray for your good health, as well. My studies are also going great. My third work on gene reaction has started from today. It is on the application of my first work, which was on gene amplification: the reaction of the polymerase chain. A method as revolutionary, giving many copies of a gene from minute amounts of it has shown in the short time of its application a wide range of uses.

One area in which the amplification technique has been ...
