Leroy Neiman was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and studies at the Art Institute of Chicago, De Paul University, and the University of Illinois. Neiman Taught at the Art Institute of Chicago's school for ten years. Leroy Neiman is one of America's foremost contemporary artists, best known for the explosive color and dramatic impact of his paintings. Neiman is a man of action, or at least that is the quality, which he prefers in a subject. The 76-year-old painter, lithographer and silkscreen artist is world-renowned (if critically dismissed) for the vivid splashes of his celebrity portraits and leisure-world tableaux.
