Introduction

Initially, jazz in New York was found in bars and clubs of Harlem. The city of Harlem at that time was populated with African Americans but whites also visited their frequently. Intrigued by the new form of music they took it to New York along with them. In New York the jazz music was originated in early 20th century in its ruler areas but it did not took longer to quickly spread throughout the urban areas. The jazz music in New York was mixed with stride and was evolved with the course of the time.
