The ITC eChoupal Initiative

The purpose of the eChoupal initiative is to encourage creative use of information technology to enable companies to gather diverse agencies, possessing specialized capabilities, with the main aim of empowering the farmers in India. The aim of the Chairman of ITC was to speed it up both in the realm of ITC and the export market for global commodities. In the May of 1999, Sivakumar called a session for the brainstorming of ideas with the management team of ITC.
