Introduction

The Iraq war is considered as a conflict and it started in the year 2003.though the war ended but the violence continues in the region and it has caused thousands of fatalities. The invasion began with an air strike by the American army and American forces entered into the region and launched their mission. At the time of invasion, forty other nations supported America by providing them with equipments and other military services.

The paper will highlight whether Iraq intervention was justified or not by the government of United States. It will also discuss the role of United Nations in intervention followed by the problems and complexities in case of Iraq.

Discussion

When bush administration and the United States army invaded Iraq, there was violence all over the region. Along with Iraq army, many locals and innocent people were also killed. Even at the end of the war, the government of United States didn't prove anything and their intervention were not justified.

Humanitarian reason

The war in Iraq could not be justified as an intervention in context with human rights or on humanitarian basis. The United States main argument for the invasion ion Iraq was that they violated the international human rights. Bush also claimed that Iraqi leaders were also involved in supplying nuclear weapons to terrorist so that they can use against American. This intervention was not justified as at the end of war no nuclear weapons were discovered and the media called bush allegation a lie (Editorial Board, 2003)

Democratic promotion

Another reason behind the invasion in Iraq from the government of United States was that it wanted to restore democracy in the region of Iraq. The bush administration stated that undemocratic and dictatorship leadership develops conditions that may create hurdles in economic growth and also promotes terrorism which may cause war. According to the bush administration, democracy and liberty is a peaceful form of government. The bush and its army stated that they intervened and invaded in Iraq due to democratic promotion. This intervention was also not justified, because the US government has ...
