Introduction

It is a fact that the issue of illegal immigrants and their rights and social behavior has been debated far and wide, and is generally considered to be very complex and sensitive. Information about illegal immigrants is readily available for anyone to pursue, but it can be hard to find sources that are not biased against certain aspects of immigrants, be it their race or social behaviors or political circumstance. Peoples opinions vary from one end of the spectrum to the next, but the basic issues need to be studied and a well-balanced strategy about them needs to come about. In order for me to devise a valid study into the U.S's conduct towards immigrant's fear of crime and their reliance on the police force with respect to crimes, I may be able to develop several different sampling strategies. The sample size may be determined with the help of certain steps, such as finding out where immigrants are more likely to inhabit, or how they may be approached in an appropriate manner.

Discussion

There are several options available to the police force for the protection ofcitizens including immigrants. First off, they need to be aware of the changes occurring in immigration trends in the United States, so that they may make decisions of more patrolling services in particular areas as opposed to others. The growing international community has specific needs which need to be met by local law enforcement. According to research, more than 12.5 million immigrants have made their way into the U.S during the 90's alone, mostly originating from Latin America to Central Asia. The most number of illegal immigrants who have migrated to the U.S hidden from Homeland security are Mexican, more then 61 percent of the illegal immigrant population is made up of this nationality alone, while the next are citizens of El Salvador. Immigration laws give certain rights to the individuals traveling across borders, but those who have traveled discreetly live in fear of detection, and hence, steer clear of any activities that may cause them to be the focus of local law enforcement. For one to create a valid study on the immigrant's fear of law, they would need to have accessible measures to reach out to the immigrants.
