Postnatal depression (also known as postpartum depression) is a form of depression that can affect women and, less frequently, men after the birth of a child. In general, manifested by feelings of sadness and tearfulness, but may also show symptoms of depression. The Spanish Society of General Medicine (SEMG) defined it as a temporary condition that occurs between two and four days after birth and disappears spontaneously and without squeal, over a period of two weeks.

For this purpose a number of literatures were reviewed to get a better understanding postnatal depression in new mother, and what were the best ways to reduce it. It is important to understand what postnatal depression is in detail, and what are the factors that contribute to it to better go about the research?
Postnatal depression
Postnatal depression (also known as postpartum depression) is a form of depression that can affect women and, less frequently, men after the birth of a child. In general, manifested by feelings of sadness and tearfulness, but may also show symptoms of depression. It is important to keep in mind that baby blues are much milder form of depression and are not considered as postpartum depression.
