Background of the research

This study will be based on the topic “Important Theories Related to Gender and Social Behavior of Genders in Various Cultures. It is extremely important to realize that gender differences are evident in every culture and society. No matter how much societies' seem to portray themselves as liberal and modern, the importance of gender differences still prevail. The purpose of this research is to analyze the basic gender theories and variant social behavior of genders across various cultures. The research tends to focus on the interlinked connection of genders of various cultures with the underlying theories that have been developed related to genders (Julia, 2012).

Gender expectations differentiate the treatments which boys and girls get from the time of their birth. Various researches have been conducted to observe the different ways in which both the genders and handled differently (Thomas & Trautner, 2000). The fact that from the very first day of a baby's life, girls are handled a lot more gently than boys is undeniable. Similarly, expectations from girls are different from those of boys. Girls are always expected to be sweet and caring, whereas boys are assumed to be rough and are given great independence from the beginning (Jocelyn, Daniel & Judith, 2010).

The field of sociology also distinguishes between the important terms of gender and sex. Sociologists have tried to refer sex as the biological identity of being male or female. On the other hand, sociologists have referred to gender as the socially accepted and learned expectations and behaviors associated with being male or female (Carol & Melvin, 2003). The term sex is basically assigned biologically; however, gender is learned culturally. The purpose of this research is to identify important theories related to gender and social behavior of genders in various cultures in order to make the reader aware about the significance of gender associated theories (John, 1997).

Thesis Statement

The thesis statement of the research proposal is to identify the effectiveness of the important theories related to gender and social behavior of genders in various cultures.

Aims and Objectives

The primary purposes related to the research are;

To explore the basic differences those are related to genders.

To explore the important theories related to gender in various cultures.

To explore the important theories related to social behavior of genders in various cultures

To find out the relationship between theories of gender and social behavior of genders in various cultures.

Research Method

The study would be following the mixed methodology. That is, both the qualitative and the quantitative methods will be used in this study. The primary research will involve the data collected through survey and the secondary data will also be used for the analysis of the ...
