Fruit & vegetables statistical analysis

Introduction

This assignment is based on the statistical analysis of fruits and vegetables that how much fruit and vegetables are consumed by the different customers located in different cities. It also analyzes the percentage of damaged foods and the impact of the damaged food on the price of the products in different countries. This assignment critically analyzes the mean and sum of different fruits and vegetables that are damaged in different cities. The main variables that are used in this assignment are “price per kg of the vegetables and fruits” and “percentage of damaged produce”. Besides these variables, there are five other variables also; “ID number”, “customer”, “city”, “produce”, and “quantity sold per day”. However, the most important and significant variables for the study are “price per kg of the vegetables and fruits” and “percentage of damaged produce”. Between these variables, “price per kg of the vegetables and fruits” is a dependent variable, and “percentage of damaged produce” is an independent variable. The analysis shows that the price of the produce is highly dependent on the quantity and amount of damaged produce. In this assignment, a brief statistical analysis is carried out that shows the relationship between the independent variable (percentage of damaged produce) and dependent variable (price per kg of the vegetables and fruits). Moreover, this assignment shows that how much fruits and vegetables are consumed or purchased by the types of the customers that are; Coles, private, and Safeway.

The first part emphasize on the random data that is generated from the sample size of 350 customers. Next part emphasize on the amount of produce purchased by different customers. Moving to the next part, there is a brief discussion of the sum of percentage of damaged food and price per kg, which indicates that among all the fruits and vegetables, which vegetable and fruit has higher prices and lower prices and which vegetable and fruit holds more percentage of damaged produce. Next to this, T-Test is carried out that shows that how much purchasing at Coles took place. Moreover, a regression analysis is also carried out that shows the intensity of relationship and direction of relationship between the independent variable and dependent variable.
