Whenever we read or hear the word franchise, many things come into our mind. A lay man may take it as a branch of an enterprise but in reality it's much more than a branch. Many people have given different definitions of franchise but a simple definition could be that a franchise is a kind of business in which the franchise owner has the authority to sell the parent company goods in a defined area. When a businessman opens a franchise, he has the ownership of the business and its infrastructure. Along with the ownership of the business, one gets the name of the parent company as well.
