Abstract

Greater cultural diversity in the population has an impact on interpersonal relationships at work between employees, between employees and clients of the organization as well as on the management of these relationships. In this paper we will first look at the impact of this cultural diversity and then describe the role a psychologist can play in this particular area. The roles of consultant to management, of counselor at the individual and group levels, of trainer as well as of researcher in a “real-world research paradigm” will be explored. Guided by a ten year practice as well as by the literature in the field, a model is proposed for intervention.
