Difference of Korean food between traditional and modern period
The habitation of man in Korea initiated about half a million years ago. The very first kingdom of Korea existed in the year of 2333 B.C. and was named as Ko-chosun. Korea, in totality had 3 ancient kingdom named as Shilla(Kaya), Koguryo as well as Paekche. Korean Kingdom was by far the most strongest amidst all. Since it has so much of diversity it also bought along diversity in food. The oldest dishes that have been served since ages are Mother's Bulgogi which consists of Korean Barbecue Beef, Galbi, Samgyeopsal. Fish cuisines included Hoe and Sannakji. Soups as well as stew included Guk, Tang, and Jjigae. The grain dishes mainly included Bibimbap, Boribap and Ogokbap. These dishes are traditional and whenever there is a festivity or a special occasion in terms of weddings, or religious festivals it becomes mandatory for the Korean family to stick to the tradition and have these dishes served. All of these dishes are said to be mainly made up of boiled rice which is also known as Gup in Korean language. Other ingredients include soup, pickled vegetables and many other side dishes. These ingredients are made spicier with by using seasonings such as sesame oil, toenjang which is soybean paste, green onion, garlic, ginger, garlic and soy sauce.
With time there have been many additions with respect to having snack items. Snack items would include Bindaetteok, Bungeoppang and Kimbap. Even though many new dishes have been added but these dishes haven't left the traditional roots of Korean food. For instance, Bindaetteok is a pan cake but it has a healthy ingredient of beans in it.
