Abstract

The paper aims to emphasize on the major causes of overcrowding in the prisons. The prison system is an institution set aside for many countries. It is estimated that about 30 per cent of all prisoners suffer from heart disease, while in the general population, this percentage is 10 percent. Similarly, in the case of Hepatitis C as well as HIV infections occur.
