FEMINIST CRITICISM

The story “The story of an hour” is written by Kate Chopin and, posses the feminist criticism in the story. It is clearly shown from the writing of the author that, she tried to attract the audience towards the fact that, this society is the male dominant society and, females are considered as the secondary sex and, has no equal opportunities as men. This story has several findings which, clearly showed that, women are suffering from pain and distress because, of the men and, unfair attitude of the society. The marriage of the major character in the story was unfruitful because, she was widowed earlier of her marriage and, had no children. Story clearly showed that, she had fought with the rest of her life and, her mental condition is not good because, of the trauma and, stress in her mind.

In the story “Cinderella” it has been observed that, a change of course, threatens the family fortune. For even the most perfect woman fails sometimes with the impossibility to cook delicious dinner, to sit on the tax return, while rushing for parents evening. The knock-on effect and, the turn of job stress stricken husband is not at home the devout listener, he would need, and the concerns of children are perceived too late. All individuals are looking problems as the private problems and, trying to solve each problem individually. In case, if any individual try to solve any problem then, in the end he or she feels exhaust because, any individual can't fight alone and, there should be a combined effort.

Alongside “Dark over”, you cannot fail to mention two works belong to the fantasy genre Bradley. Its The Mists of Avalon, which takes up the Arthurian myth from the point of view of Morgana, and torch, which recreates the Trojan War in totally new ways, as seen by Cassandra. Although much younger, Vonda N. McIntyre (1948) also breaks into the seventies with a militant feminism and open.

New Historicism

The story “Going to meet the Man” was the short fiction story of James Baldwin and, started from the bed scene when, Jesse who was the town sheriff was with his wife on his bed. He wanted to have sex with his wife but, his wife was not giving proper response as she looked tired and, wanted to sleep. Jesse could not have the ability to bring the erection and, he was helpless. This story is relating the cultural thoughts of the character to present conditions as he still admire the old happenings of the child hood and, remembered the events of history. Jesse found black man naked and, he was surrounded by the white men who were watching him with peace including his parents. They did not feel pity of the black man, and, Jesse enjoyed whole scene with patience and, found interesting to watch such scenes with his parents.
