Depression

Human nature posses significant mood swings which involves psychological and behavioural changes. These mood swings are the result of changes in behaviours because of the affect of surroundings over human nature (Judd 1999). Everybody feels blue or upset. But these feelings are mostly for the short period of time. However, this sad feeling is the reaction to the setbacks and struggles which creates disappointment (Mccallum D. P. 45). Mostly, people use the term “depression” in the explanation to such feelings. Depression is usually described as “living in the dark hole”, which means to have a feeling imminent towards doom. However most of the depressed people don't get the feeling of sadness- they might get the feeling of being lifeless, emptied and at times droopy. Particularly, men may get the feeling of aggression and agitation.

Whatsoever, the symptoms are, depression is something different from being sad. It is something that overwhelms your daily life, interferes in your work abilities. It gives the feeling of hopelessness and being helpless which is intense as well as inexorable (Mccallum D. P. 45), with little, only if got any of the relief.

Depression has variations from person to person, but mostly people have common symptoms. It is very important to keep in mind that these symptoms are part of normal lows of life (Hammen 1997). But more symptoms one posses, the stronger they are, and if they last for longer period- it is more likely that you deal with depressions. When all of these symptoms become devastating and disabling, occurs the time to seek for help.
