The idea that, because women give birth, they are naturally better able to take care of their homes still consciously or unconsciously in our society. The family remains the space of women and the sexual division of labor still confined women in domestic chores. If domestic work means all the work that contribute to the maintenance and welfare of household members, INSEE found that women perform the 2/3 of these tasks. Indeed, a man working full time spend on average 10 hours per week to domestic work, a woman in a similar situation more than 30 hours. Men spend five times longer than women to vehicle maintenance, DIY, gardening and out of the dog. By cons, women spend five times more time in the kitchen, washing up, three times longer races, ironing, laundry and children's education. Today, women modern working are always responsible for the care home and accumulate a double shift or triple: work, household chores and child rearing.
Discussion
Domestic work provided by women is not considered a job for free since it is realized. It is therefore socially under valued. In addition, the position of women in the productive sphere is ideologically explained by their place in the reproductive sphere, that is to say domestic or private. Within couples, they are more often women who are involved in the management or stewardship of the household.
