Introduction

This essay discusses an important debate that is significant to organizations that are concerned with establishing a customer relationship management with an approach towards developing a competitive edge in the markets. This essay will; therefore, be discussing whether or not the Lean and Six Sigma techniques, organisational learning, and business intelligence may be combined to enable companies in their quest for establishing sound competitive energies in the market through establishing a customer relationship management techniques and strategies.

The essay will take upon a systematic approach; in a sense that each of the three terms of lean and Six Sigma techniques, learning in organizations, and business intelligence concepts will be discussed, in addition to debating upon the effects that might be observed after they have been combined. The Lean approach is the management and organizational innovation that has enabled many companies to improve quality and service, and at the same time to reduce costs dramatically, regaining competitiveness so that global competition had taken. Six Sigma is a management approach, born and developed in the United States, to improve the quality and processes. The primary objective of six sigma technique was to help US companies restore their competitiveness to Japanese companies; hence it became an advisable approach for the U.S companies to ensure that they attain sustainability in the long run.

Organizations can, in this way, be considered as a complex mosaic of human relations or interactions. Coaching as an organizational tool can in this respect, be seen as a way to structuring and developing relationships and thus, transforming the organization (Nonthaleerak & Hendry, 2006, 105-161). In this understanding, learning and coaching can be seen as a strategy designed to promote organizational development.

Lean Six Sigma Techniques: An Evaluation

The methodology of Lean Six Sigma” combines the techniques utilized under the principles of Lean manufacturing, also known as Lean Production (useful to streamline and speed up the process). Lean Six Sigma has become quite prominent recently a procedure for organizational change in large enterprises. Combining different paradigms, it has become a reference in the eyes of leaders and tendency; therefore, producing changes in the work of different frameworks. Lean Manufacturing ensures the maintenance of the state of improvements needed within an organization. This, in turn, resolves the problems related to the standard deviation of the processes (Nair & Hansen, 2000, 1002-1005). The combination of these two processes culminates into interesting results that are very useful in the long-term sustainability of an organization.

To explain in simplistic terminologies, one can say that Lean Six Sigma is concerned with increasing profits of a company while trying to meet the requirements of its customers.
