Executive Summary

Leadership is perceived as a process that not only fosters collaboration in an organization but also creates an environment that is helpful for all the employees to be effective. A leader is the one that has the ability to have a shared vision. The most important thing for the leader to do is to inspire his followers so that they also can imitate him and become leaders someday. The report proposes that the transformational leadership is the one that is helpful for a leader to be as effective as required. A transformational leader is the one that challenges the status quo and initiates a change. The change can be resisted by many employees in the organization but will sustain for a longer term. The leader does not have to fear anyone in the organization and has to work according to the plan.

The report discusses the case of Hammond Corporation that has appointed a new CEO, who is facing difficulties in pursuing an investigation that will be launched in order to find out and punish those that were responsible for a number of fraudulent activities in the organization. The CEO is a female, which is why she has to face many difficulties in the process. She has to induce the change and has to ensure that the planning is effective and change is sustaining. She has to create a culture that is people-oriented but is punishing to those, who tend to bribe in order to extract profits on the behalf of the company. As a transformational leader, she has to carry out this change throughout the organization and has to make sure that each and every employee is communicated about the pattern of change that is to be followed.

In order for an organization to stay productive, the workforce of the organization has to exceed the expectations of the management. An organization that has a surplus in productivity is the one with a competitive edge over other organizations. It is the leader of the organization that has to create an environment that rewards performance of the employees and holds them accountable for any mistakes that they commit. The leader has to break complex tasks into simpler ones so that the employees can comprehend them and work accordingly. The leader also has to work as an entity that fills the communication gap between the management and the employees.
