Abstract

In this research paper we have discussed the Business communications trends that have evolved to a great extent in the recent centuries, and these trends are changing rapidly. Moreover the means of communication at the workplace are discussed in which the main focus is texting and emails.

Introduction

Communications can be written, verbal and non- verbal. In a business setting, the verbal communication is the first way of communication. Business communications provide a number of ways to communicate in verbal, non-verbal and written ways. The face to face interaction is the verbal communication, where as non- verbal communication is done, through electronic mails, fax and the telephone.

Discussion

Business communication provides me rooms to look after all my tasks very expeditiously. The documents that are faxed preclude prolonged waiting for postal mail shipments. The Electronic Mails are easier and allows sending and receiving documents at a single click. Furthermore emails helps to send bulk memos to a large number of recipients at a time without any expenses. Emails replies can be sent and received within minutes and it is a form of continuous non-verbal communication. Moreover, telephone is an older way of communication and a tremendous way to converse and deal with a number of clients, applicants, and other business to business (b2b) entities. The effectiveness of business communications is the greatest positive feature of an organization The Business trends are usually territorial and exchangeable. When technology got advanced, almost all of the business entities adjusted and adapted to the new ones discarding or minimizing the use of the older ones. An arising demand and use for PDA cellular devices and laptop computers for salespeople in most major industries are noticed, where as fax machines are getting non- mandatory with the power and uprising requirements for scanners and email attachments. (Knight, 2009)

The mails inside the office are also a fresh trend for forward-looking and modern corporations where postage by an individual is not requisite anymore. There are many other major business communication trends which include the social networking. The Trend of social networking has dominated the industry of business as there are a millions of corporations and business personals who make a profile on the social networking websites in order to build their brand image and propose an intensified presence. The basic and pre-modern style of promoting a business was business cards, then a website took place of the basic style and now a social networking profile deals with purpose. Business cards are still used in but the cards are updated with modern designs and ideas that include very unique and updated materials. Business marketing is the origin for business communication and creation of a brand has also developed these days.
