Should gay and lesbian couples be allowed to adopt children?

Yes, the homo sexual couples must be allowed for adoption, as it must be the parental capabilities of the person, on which this decision must be made, rather than the gender or sexual orientation of the person. The selected paper (Biblarz T.J. and Savci E., 2010) presents the review about the homosexual families, including gay and lesbians. A deep analysis of the parenting characteristics of these couples is included in the paper. it consists of separate sections discussing about lesbian and gay families.

The first few section of the paper focuses on the lesbian families and their children. The Lesbian parent couples exhibit high levels of shared income, good decision making powers, quality of family orientation and may more features which are essential for the growth and development of healthy children. Another good feature in the lesbian couples is the satisfactory level of relationship, which they have with their partner that impacts the family positively. The parents are more satisfied with each other's parenting qualities, in comparison to the traditional heterosexual couples. Lesbian parents have a desire of children, as it is the natural characteristic of women; they love to spare time and thoughts for bringing up their children. The general behavior of the children of heterosexual parents is not at all different from those of lesbian parents.

The last sections of the paper dedicate to the gay families and their children. As the lesbian couples, they equally share the responsibilities of financing and bringing up the children. They teach discipline and other positive behavioral qualities to the children, at a better level as compared to the heterosexual couples.
