Describe different ways in which theory is used by a researcher during the research process, including different forms of theory and how they connect to data?

Answer 1) Theory tends to play a very vital role when it comes to social research. Irrespective of the nature of research theory tends to lay the basic framework for the research or it tends to set the modus operandi for the research. It is the theory which tends to play a significant role in rendering the limitations for the research. In the Pretext of the paper it won't be wrong to state the fact that theory tends to act as the backbone of any research and in the context of the social research its significance tends to increase (Booth 2005, p.56). Theory acts as the backbone of nay research because it tends to mark the limit up till which the study or the subject has evolved as the time has progressed and based on the existing research, the new modus operandi would be developed.

Moreover, theory also helps the data to be interpreted in the appropriate manner by formulating the guidelines and the norms for the research.
