Introduction

This paper is aimed at reviewing and analyzing the Curriculum map prepared in earlier and examines the applied or relevant educational theory and critical analysis and explanation of designed activity plan. In addition, the paper also covers the compatibility and relative effect of planned activity on the achievement of course objective.

Curriculum mapping plays a vital role in educational efforts for articulating potential and raising student's success factors. As we know, that curriculum mapping is prepared in collaboration with course directors and teachers in an effort of providing a similar, interlinked, and a particular documentation that is aimed at defining about student's core learning objectives for a specific educational level and assessment criteria per subject (Rush-Henrietta, n.d.).

This procedure heavily depends upon the continuous collaboration and cooperation between faculty and program coordinators at every phase. It serves the purpose of guidance for teachers as to what is required to instruct students. An appropriate curriculum map should begin with core objectives i.e. what is supposed to be achieved out of course learning procedure. It can be said these are the convenient tools in the field of education with respect to short and long term planning.

The curricular map, which is required to be analyzed, is mainly prepared for students of 13 year old age group. The main field of education for which this curriculum is prepared is history. The curriculum map is divided into five main activities. The First activity introduces students to Civil rights movement regarding immigration, Indian Unions and Blacks in United States. The Second activity covers the similar topics and context with respect to later part of the history. The Third and Forth activities are aimed at explaining turning points of World War II and Civil rights covering the time period of 1942 to 1980. The Fifth activity emphasizes on the revision of what so far has been covered and lastly comes the activity that is related to assessment and examination.

Discussion

The activity one of the history course reflects the initial stage and involves introductory topics of history that explains positive and negative changes occurred during the stated time period in order to improvise the understandability of students with respect to changes and causes of various events in the history. The education theory that has been applied to the First Activity is Lecture, which is more of a oral teaching style instructing and teaching regarding a specific subject. Lecture as theory of education is considered as the most appropriate way of communicating with students and conveying significant information such as histological events and descriptive theories. The reason behind applying such a theory is its important role out of academic environment. An effective way of lecturing that involves two ways interaction at the end plays a crucial role in the development and learning of various agendas, which are usually considered as descriptive and lengthy.
