It associates the story with the various events and happening, shaping the America we know today. The well written book addresses a number of issues which are very crucial to know, and can be controversial to many people, like highlighting the importance of Moses as the most important in the history of America. It very well notes that simply because people use the story, it does not in any way mean that it inspires them by Moses or the story. The book has three main themes, the first part which is consistently, viewable again and again emphasis on, “the courage to escape oppression and seek the Promised Land”. “The tension between freedom and law", is the second theme of the story, followed by the third and final theme of the story which is "the building of a society that welcomes the outsider and uplifts the downtrodden." The article concludes with comments of the reader answering a number of questions after reading and properly evaluating the book.
