St. John's University Alumni Insider's View program
The Alumni Insider's View Program, which was started over 30 years ago with a student trip to Washington, D.C., is offering multiple events for students to network with St. John's graduates this year. The Alumni Insider's View program is constantly growing and looking for student input on what students want to see. I want to participate in this program this year since it would be really beneficial for me for my career.
For proving that I am eligible to take part in this program, I would to share my background and experiences. I started at St. John's in 2003, and after a few breaks here and there due to financial reasons, I will be graduating in December of 2011, which is something that I am very happy and excited about. I have worked really hard and I am very ambitious. Every semester spent at St. John's, I have worked full-time and attended school full-time. Due to this aspect and the fact that I always had to work so hard, I always felt privileged to attend school and worked really hard to excel. While in school, I was active in St. John's College Democrats as a member and the Regional Chair of College Democrats of New York.
Whether in school or out of school, I have been involved in some form of politics or another. Even though my views have changed through the years, politically, this sort of work has set my foundation for a career in government. As mentioned, I have worked through my entire college years. Most notably, I worked at The Office of Hearings and Appeals for SSA. This was one of my favorite positions as I learned great leadership skills from my manager. ...
