Abstract

In this study we try to explore the French army and its battle strategies during the era of 14th and 15th century in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on French army and the diversification of the strategies used by the army in order to overcome enemies in the battlefield. The research also analyzes many aspects of French army strategies and tries to gauge its effect on the battle scenarios in which the French army was engaged during the 14th and 15th century. Finally the research describes various factors forms of battle strategies originated by the French army, and the combat tactics through which the army overcame each and every enemy they faced. Nevertheless, the research also analyzes the hurdles faced by the French army due to the shortage of supplied and analyzes the contemporary weaponry used by the army in order to achieve victory.

Introduction

The purpose of this paper is to enlighten and explore French military during the 14th and 15th century. This analysis in this paper is not limited to the wars in which the French army was engaged during the 14th and 15th century. Nevertheless, the core objective of the paper is to analyze and explore and focus on the battle tactics, battle strategies, weaponry and the evolution of weaponry in the French army. The army history covers several wars and conflicts in which the army either won or gave a hard time to the enemy troops. Due to the long duration of the conflicts faced by the French army, the French have often been at the forefront of military development. The most crucial conflicts of French were encountered mostly with the British in which there was a lot of bloodshed on the battlefield. The enhanced conflict encountered by the French army, the army explores contemporary dimensions through which they can achieve an upper hand in the battlefield. There were contemporary strategies explored by the French army; in addition, the army used modern weaponry in order to defeat its enemy. The French army was divided in different units, each unit had its distinct objective, and every unit's objective accomplishment was dependent on the other. The battle strategies adapted by the French were sophisticated; yet, the most successful in the battlefield.

According to the analysis of French army and their battle tactics in the 14th and 15th century, it can be interpreted that compared to large national armies governed by the feudal forces, French army was much more civilized and organized. Until the end of the 15th century, the French regiments, divisions and corps were not permanent.
