The 2011 season of National Football League (NFL) is facing a lockout. The owners and the players were unable to find common ground on sharing U.S. $ 9 billion in profits annually, the National Football League and the Association of NFL players (NFLPA) have endangered the next season's most popular sport United States by ending some negotiations before the end of their collective agreement. The NFL confirmed it has imposed a lockout on its players, the first work stoppage that knows the mighty American circuit since 1987, thus endangering the 2011 season.
The league said in a news release she implored the Association of NFL players (NFLPA) to return immediately to the negotiating table. The negotiations between the two sides ended a few hours before there comes to an end the collective agreement. The NFLPA has announced its dissolution and 10 players, including the quarter Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, sued the owners in federal court, attempting to obtain an injunction to prevent the imposition of a lockout by the owners before that it is imposed.
"Dropping out of negotiations with the players' association has forced clubs to take the measure they were trying to avoid at all costs. The league informed the union that it took this difficult but necessary step in the exercise of his rights under the Federal Labour Act, that is to say, to impose a lockout, "reads in the release of the NFL. Lockout means there can be no communication between clubs and their players, no signed contract can not be performed, even for players who will be drafted in April, and that the clubs have now stopped pay the premium for health insurance players. While the NFL is currently between seasons - the 2011 season will not start in motion before six months - it's not a season. The market for standalone players usually opens in March and hundreds of players are currently in the unknown.
